Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (ROOF DRIVE MOTOR LH OPERATION)

    1. Remove the sliding roof drive gear LH (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the sliding roof drive gear LH.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 3
      Turns clockwise
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Turns counterclockwise

    NG: REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE MOTOR LH)

    1. Remove the luggage door drive gear LH (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the luggage door drive gear LH.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 3
      Turns clockwise
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Turns counterclockwise

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (CLOSER MOTOR LH OPERATION) 
    1. Remove the luggage closer motor LH (see DISASSEMBLY ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to the motor terminals and check operation of the luggage closer motor LH.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2
      Turns clockwise
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Turns counterclockwise

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR LH) 
    1. Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the R16 drive gear connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S21-2 (RML+) - S21-6 (RML-) 10 kΩ or higher
      S21-2 (RML+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      S21-6 (RML-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (ECU - LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR LH) 
    1. Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the L17 drive gear connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S21-1 (LML+) - S21-5 (LML-) 10 kΩ or higher
      S21-1 (LML+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      S21-5 (LML-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (ECU - LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR LH) 
    1. Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the L15 motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S21-4 (LFL+) - S21-10 (LFL-) 10 kΩ or higher
      S21-4 (LFL+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      S21-10 (LFL-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
