Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH LH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the shoulder belt anchorage switch.
      1. Intelligent tester

        D-DOOR: 

        DIAGNOSTIC NOTE

        SEAT BELT ANCHOR UP Shoulder belt anchorage switch / OFF or ON ON: UP switch is pressed
        OFF: Switch is not pressed

        SEAT BELT ANCHOR DOWN Shoulder belt anchorage switch / OFF or ON ON: DOWN switch is pressed
        OFF: Switch is not pressed
        -
      2. Techstream

        Driver door: 

    DIAGNOSTIC NOTE

    Item Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
    Seat Belt Anchor UP Shoulder belt anchorage switch / OFF or ON ON: UP switch is pressed
    OFF: Switch is not pressed
    -
    Seat Belt Anchor DOWN Shoulder belt anchorage switch / OFF or ON ON: DOWN switch is pressed
    OFF: Switch is not pressed
    -

    OK: Switch operates 

    NG:  Go to step  4

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR LH 
    1. Disconnect the S7 anchor connector.

    3. Connect the battery's positive lead to terminal 3 of the shoulder belt anchor LH, and the battery's negative lead to terminal 5. Check that the motor operates.

      OK: Motor moves downward. 

    4. Connect the battery's positive lead to terminal 5 of the shoulder belt anchor LH, and the battery's negative lead to terminal 3. Check that the motor operates.

      OK: Motor moves upward. 

    NG: REPLACE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR LH  (See SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ANCHOR - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the S61 ECU connector.

    3. Disconnect the S7 anchor connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    S7-5 (UP) - S61-10 (DBM+) Always Below 1 Ω
    S7-3 (DW) - S61-8 (DBM-) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

  4. INSPECT SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH LH 
    1. Disconnect the P6 switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    P6-4 (UP) - P6-3 (UL) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher
    P6-2 (DW) - P6-3 (UL) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher
    P6-4 (UP) - P6-3 (UL) Operated to UP side Below 1 Ω
    P6-2 (DW) - P6-3 (UL) Operated to UP side 10 kΩ or higher
    P6-4 (UP) - P6-3 (UL) Operated to DOWN side 10 kΩ or higher
    P6-2 (DW) - P6-3 (UL) Operated to DOWN side Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH LH  (See SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH )

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ANCHORAGE SWITCH - FRONT DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P10 ECU connector.

    3. Disconnect the P6 switch connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    P6-4 (UP) - P10-18 (DSUP) Always Below 1 Ω
    P6-3 (UL) - P10-28 (DSE) Always Below 1 Ω
    P6-2 (DW) - P10-17 (DSDN) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU LH
