Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL FUNCTION 
    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switches.

      OK: Each function of power seat operates normally by using seat switches. 

    NG: GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH) 
    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the rear power seat switch.

      Rear Console Switch 

      REAR CONSOLE SWITCH DATA LIST

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      P Seat Full Front Switch Front passenger seat full front switch signal (Forward) / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger seat full front switch (Forward) is ON
      OFF: Front passenger seat full front switch (Forward) is OFF
      P Seat Return Switch Front passenger seat full front switch signal (Return) / ON or OFF ON: Front passenger seat full front switch (Return) is ON
      OFF: Front passenger seat full front switch (Return) is OFF

      OK: On screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

    NG: REPLACE REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT SWITCH) 
    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the power seat switch.

      Passenger Seat 

      PASSENGER SEAT DATA LIST

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      P Seat Slide Front From D Seat Passenger seat shoulder slide switch signal (Forward)/ ON or OFF ON: Passenger seat shoulder slide switch (Forward) is ON
      OFF: Passenger seat shoulder slide switch (Forward) is OFF
      P Seat Slide Back From D Seat Passenger seat shoulder slide switch signal (Rearward)/ ON or OFF ON: Passenger seat shoulder slide switch (Rearward) is ON
      OFF: Passenger seat shoulder slide switch (Rearward) is OFF
      P Seat Incline From D Seat Passenger seat shoulder full front switch signal (Forward)/ ON or OFF ON: Passenger seat shoulder full front switch (Forward) is ON
      OFF: Passenger seat shoulder full front switch (Forward) is OFF
      P Seat Recline From D Seat Passenger seat shoulder full front switch signal (Rearward)/ ON or OFF ON: Passenger seat shoulder full front switch (Rearward) is ON
      OFF: Passenger seat shoulder full front switch (Rearward) is OFF

      OK: On screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

    NG: Go to step 4 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH  (See REMOVAL  )

  4. INSPECT POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the switch.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e30-4 (HRFS) - e30-3 (E) Full front switch (forward) is ON Below 1 Ω
      e30-5 (HRRS) - e30-3 (E) Full front switch (rearward) is ON Below 1 Ω
      e30-2 (SLDF) - e30-3 (E) Slide switch (forward) is ON Below 1 Ω
      e30-1 (SLDR) - e30-3 (E) Slide switch (rearward) is ON Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the e20 and e30 switch connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e20-16 (SLDR) - e30-1 (SLDR) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-17 (SLDF) - e30-2 (SLDF) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-15 (HRFS) - e30-4 (HRFS) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-14 (HRRS) - e30-5 (HRRS) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-16 (SLDR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e20-17 (SLDF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e20-15 (HRFS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e20-14 (HRRS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH  (See REMOVAL  )
