Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      Result 

      DTC OUTPUT RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output (Driver seat climate control ECU) A
      DTC is output (Passenger seat climate control ECU) B
      DTC is output (Rear seat climate control ECU LH) C
      DTC is output (Rear seat climate control ECU RH) D

    B: Go to step  4

    C: Go to step  6

    D: Go to step  8

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH) 
    1. Disconnect the e34 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the e51 climate control controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e34-10 (TDB+) - e51-1 (TDB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      e34-10 (TDB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e34-9 (TDB-) - e51-2 (TDB-) Always Below 1 Ω
      e34-9 (TDB-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e34-10 (TDB+) - e34-9 (TDB-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the seat climate control ECU with a new one or normally operating one, and check if a DTC is output.

      OK: DTC is not output 

    NG: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU  (See REMOVAL  )

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER RH) 
    1. Disconnect the e4 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the e21 climate control controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e4-10 (TDB+) - e21-1 (TDB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      e4-10 (TDB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e4-9 (TDB-) - e21-2 (TDB-) Always Below 1 Ω
      e4-9 (TDB-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e4-10 (TDB+) - e4-9 (TDB-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the seat climate control ECU with a new one or normally operating one, and check if a DTC is output.

      OK: DTC is not output 

    NG: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER RH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU  (See REMOVAL  )

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - REAR SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH) 
    1. Disconnect the f28 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the f32 climate control blower connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f28-10 (TDB+) - f32-1 (TDB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      f28-10 (TDB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      f28-9 (TDB-) - f32-2 (TDB-) Always Below 1 Ω
      f28-9 (TDB-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      f28-10 (TDB+) - f32-9 (TDB-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the seat climate control ECU with a new one or normally operating one, and check if a DTC is output.

      OK: DTC is not output 

    NG: REPLACE REAR SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH  (See DISASSEMBLY  )

    OK: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU  (See DISASSEMBLY  )

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - REAR SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER RH) 
    1. Disconnect the f8 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the f12 climate control blower connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f8-10 (TDB+) - f12-1 (TDB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      f8-10 (TDB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      f8-9 (TDB-) - M2-2 (TDB-) Always Below 1 Ω
      f8-9 (TDB-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      f8-10 (TDB+) - f12-9 (TDB-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the seat climate control ECU with a new one or normally operating one, and check if a DTC is output.

      OK: DTC is not output

    D: REPLACE REAR SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER RH  (See DISASSEMBLY  )

    A: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
