- Check that the entry luggage compartment open function operates
- CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT
- Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment), and check that the entry luggage compartment lock-in prevention function operatesNOTE: If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment), communication is not possible.
HINT
- When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment), the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom
- If the operation check is normal, the possibility of wave interference is high Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference If installed, remove them and perform the operation check
OK: Entry functions operate normally.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE
- Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment), and check that the entry luggage compartment lock-in prevention function operates
- PERFORM KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE INSPECTION
- Diagnostic mode inspection (indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment))
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
- Turn the engine switch on (IG)
- Turn the Techstream on
- Enter the following menus Body Electrical / Utility / Smart Access / Communication Check (Key Diag mode) / Overhead + Luggage (inside)
- When the electrical key transmitter is held at the same height as the rear bumper upper surface and aligned with the center of the rear of the vehicle, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds
HINT
If the buzzer sounds, it can be determined that the luggage compartment interior transmitter is operating normally
OK: Wireless door lock buzzer sounds.
NG: Go to step 4
OK: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) (See REMOVAL )
- Diagnostic mode inspection (indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment))
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)
- Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector
- Disconnect the indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment) connector
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)
- Disconnect the door control receiver connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below
Standard Resistance

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER - ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA)
- Disconnect the electrical key antenna connector
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below
Standard Resistance

- Replace the indoor electrical key oscillator (luggage compartment) (See REMOVAL )
- CHECK INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)
- Check that the entry function operates normally (See OPERATION CHECK
).
OK: Entry function operates normally.
NG: Go to step 9
OK: END (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)
- Check that the entry function operates normally (See OPERATION CHECK

- REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA
- Replace the electrical key antenna (See REMOVAL )
