Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY - TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the J51 connector from the multi-display

    2. Disconnect the Q43 connector from the television camera assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q43-4 (CB+) - J51-13 (CA+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q43-3 (CGND) - J51-14 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q43-2 (CV+) - J51-27 (V+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q43-1 (CV-) - J51-28 (V-) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q43-4 (CB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q43-3 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q43-2 (CV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q43-1 (CV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ 2 or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY 
    1. Reconnect the J51 connector to the multi-display
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below

      Standard Voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q43-4 (CB+) - Q43-3 (CGND) Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever is in R.
      5 5 to 6.5 V

    NG: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the J51 connector to the multi-display and the Q43 connector to the television camera assembly.

    2. Check the waveform of the television camera assembly using an oscilloscope
      1. Measurement terminal. Q43-2 (CV+) - Q43-1 (CV-) Measurement setting. 0.2 V/DIV, 50 μs/DIV Condition Engine switch on (IG), Shift lever in R

        OK: Pulses as shown in the illustration.

    NG: REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY  (See TELEVISION CAMERA  )

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
