Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can be helpful in determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, whether the engine was warmed up or not, whether the air/fuel ratio was lean or rich, as well as other data recorded at the time of a malfunction.
- CHECK CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ASSEMBLY (SENSOR POWER SOURCE)
- Disconnect the C1 camshaft position sensor connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the camshaft position sensor connector and body ground.
Standard voltage
STANDARD VOLTAGETester Connection Specified Condition C1-3 - Body ground 4.5 to 5.0 V - Reconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

OK: Go to Next Step
- INSPECT SENSOR INSTALLATION
- Check the camshaft position sensor installation.
OK: The camshaft position sensor is installed properly.
NG: SECURELY REINSTALL SENSOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- Check the camshaft position sensor installation.
- INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING PULLEY LH (SIGNAL PLATE TOOTH)
- Check the tooth of the signal plate.
OK: The camshaft does not have any cracks or deformation.
NG: REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING PULLEY LH
OK: REPLACE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
- Check the tooth of the signal plate.
