Inspection Procedure
- CHECK DEFOGGER SYSTEM
- Check that the defogger operates normally (see
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
).
OK: Defogger operates normally.
NG: Go to WINDOW DEFOGGER SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
OK: Go to Next Step
- Check that the defogger operates normally (see
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
).
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR HEATER FUNCTION)
- Select the ACTIVE TEST, use Techstream a control command, and then check the mirror heater function.

- Select the ACTIVE TEST, use Techstream a control command, and then check the mirror heater function.
- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (MIRROR HEATER)
- Remove the mirror LH.
- Check the operation of the mirror heater.
- Measure the resistance between terminals 4 and 12 of the connector.
Standard resistance: 3.6 to 4.8 Ω at 25°C (75°F)
- Apply battery voltage and check the mirror heater operation.

Battery negative (-) → Terminal 12 (-)Mirror becomes warm HINT:
It will take a short time for the mirror to become warm.
- Measure the resistance between terminals 4 and 12 of the connector.
NG: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (See REMOVAL )
OK: REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH
- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (MIRROR HEATER)
- Remove the mirror RH.
- Check the operation of the mirror heater.
- Measure the resistance between terminals 4 and 12 of the connector.
Standard resistance: 3.6 to 4.8 Ω at 25°C (75°F)
- Apply battery voltage and check the mirror heater operation.

- Check if the malfunction disappears when a normally functioning front multiplex network door ECU LH is installed.
OK: Mirror heater operates normally.
NG: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH
- Check if the malfunction disappears when a normally functioning front multiplex network door ECU LH is installed.
- CHECK FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH
- Check if the malfunction disappears when a normally functioning front multiplex network door ECU RH is installed.
OK: Mirror heater operates normally.
NG: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH
- Check if the malfunction disappears when a normally functioning front multiplex network door ECU RH is installed.
