Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (SECURITY INDICATOR) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the indicator illuminates.

      Theft warning ECU 

      ACTIVE TEST DETAIL - THEFT WARNING ECU

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      SECURITY INDIC Security indicator ON / OFF -

      OK: 

      Security indicator operates normally. 

    OK: REPLACE THEFT WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY 

    NG: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (SECURITY INDICATOR)

    1. Remove the outer mirror switch.
    2. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the indicator, and check the lighting condition of the security indicator.
      NOTE:
      • If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the security indicator does not illuminate.
      • A voltage of more than 12 V will damage the security indicator.
      • If the voltage is too low, the security indicator will not illuminate.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (LP)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 5 (E)
      Illuminates

    NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH - BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the M4 switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M4-5 (E) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU - OUTER MIRROR SWITCH)

    1. Disconnect the T7 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the M4 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      T7-3 (IND) - M4-3 (LP) Below 1 Ω
      T7-3 (IND) or M4-3 (LP) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
