Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK SPEEDOMETER (OPERATION)
    1. Drive the vehicle and check if operation of the speedometer in the combination meter is normal.

OK: Actual vehicle speed and the speed indicated on the speedometer are the same.

    HINT:

The vehicle speed sensor is operating normally if the speedometer display is normal.

NG: CHECK SPEEDOMETER CIRCUIT  (See Speedometer Malfunction )

    OK: Go to next step

  2. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on.
    3. Select the item "VEHICLE SPD" in the DATA LIST and check that the speed displayed on the tester screen is the same as the one indicated on the combination meter.

OK: The speed displayed on the tester screen is almost the same as the speed the one indicated on the combination meter.

    NG: GO TO step 3

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

  3. INSPECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU (SPD VOLTAGE)
    1. Shift the lever to the neutral position.
    2. Jack up the vehicle.
    3. Turn the ignition switch on.
    4. Measure the voltage between the specified terminals of the H29 and H31 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors as the wheel is turned slowly.

      Standard voltage
