DTC P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input): Description

The Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch detects the shift lever position and sends signals to the ECM.

DTC DETECTION CONDUCTION DESCRIPTION

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
P0705 When either condition below is met (2 trip detection logic):
  • All switches are OFF simultaneously for P, R, N, D, 3 and 2 positions
  • 2 or more switches are ON simultaneously for D, 4, 3, 2 and L positions
  • Open or short in PNP switch circuit
  • PNP switch
  • ECM
