Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE (P-IG1-4, P RR S/HTR) 
    1. Remove the P-IG1-4 and P RR S/HTR fuses from the passenger side junction block.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard resistance 

      FUSE (P-IG1-4, P RR S/HTR)

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      P-IG1-4 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      P RR S/HTR fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the f8 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND RESISTANCE

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      f8-12 (GND)-Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND VOLTAGE

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      f8-2 (SYSB) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      f8-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the power seat module switch.
      1. Intelligent tester

        REAR CONSOLE SWITCH 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - REAR CONSOLE SWITCH REFERENCE

        RR A/C MAIN SW Rear right seat A/C main switch condition/ON or OFF ON: Switch ON

      2. Techstream

        Rear Console Switch 

        TECHSTREAM - REAR CONSOLE SWITCH REFERENCE

        RR Seat A/C Main Switch Rear right seat A/C main switch condition/ON or OFF ON: Switch ON
        OFF: Switch OFF
        -

        OK : 

        On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

        Result

        NG (w/ Ottoman) B
        NG (w/o Ottoman) C

    A: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    B: REPLACE REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    C: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. INSPECT CURTAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the r3 switch connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      CURTAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Tester Connector Switch Condition Specified Condition
      13 (SW3) - 5 (SWE1) Rear right seat A/C switch ON Below 1.5 V

      HINT:

      As the circuit has a diode, perform the measurement with the tester in diode mode.

    NG: REPLACE CURTAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH CURTAIN SWITCH AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the r1 power seat switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the r3 curtain switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH CURTAIN SWITCH AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      r1-3 (SW3) - r3-13 (SW3) Always Below 1 Ω
      r1-17 (SWE1) - r3-5 (SWE1) Always Below 1 Ω
      r1-3 (SW3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      r1-17 (SWE1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH (See  REMOVAL  )
