Previous versions of this TSIB should be discarded.
The information contained in this TSIB supersedes TSIB No. TC001-07.
TSIB No. TC001-07 is now obsolete and should be discarded.
Introduction
Some customers may experience a shift flare that is most noticeable after a cold soak under the following operating conditions:
- 3rd to 4th upshift during the first 10 minutes of operation
- 2nd to 3rd and/or 4th to 5th upshift
- 5th to 4th downshift when accelerating from coast or decelerating between 30 - 40 mph
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) logic has been revised to help improve these specific customer concerns. In the event the reflash does NOT completely resolve the issue, the automatic transaxle assembly should also be replaced.

Repair Procedure
- Check for the Authorized Modifications Label affixed to the vehicle in the location shown in Fig 1. Confirm if the TCM calibration has been updated. If the calibration ID listed is NOT the latest TCM calibration - go to step 2.
- Allow the vehicle to cold soak for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Connect TIS Techstream to DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch ON.
- Turn the TIS Techstream tester ON.
- Enter the following menus on the tester: Vehicle / ECT / Data List.

- Flash reprogram the TCM.NOTE:
- The GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station MUST be used in Power Supply Mode to maintain battery voltage at 13.5 volts while flash reprogramming the vehicle.
- For details on how to use the GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station, refer to the GR8 Instruction Manual located on TIS, Diagnostics - Battery .
Follow the procedures outlined in TSIB No. L-SB-0015-10 , "Techstream ECU Flash Reprogramming Procedure," and flash the ECM (PCM) with the NEW calibration file update.
