Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY - TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E63 connector from the multi-display.
    2. Disconnect the R15 connector from the television camera assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection (Terminal No.) Condition Specified condition
      CB+ (R15-4) - CA+ (E63-13) Always Below 1 Ω
      CGND (R15-3) - CGND (E63-14) Always Below 1 Ω
      CV+(R15-2) - V+(E63-27) Always Below 1 Ω
      CV-(R15-1) - V-(E63-28) Always Below 1 Ω
      CB+ (R15-4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CGND (R15-3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CV+ (R15-2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CV- (R15-1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY 
    1. Reconnect the multi-display E63 connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      CB+ (R15-4) - CGND (R15-3) Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever R position
      Approx. 6 V

    NG: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  3. INSPECT TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the television camera assembly R15 connector.

    2. Check the waveform of the television camera assembly using an oscilloscope.

      Standard waveform 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      CV+(R15-2) - CV-(R15-1) Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever R position
      Shown in the illustration

    NG: REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
