Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK RESISTANCE OF COMMUNICATION LINE 
    1. Disconnect the R7 sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the 1R J/B connector.
    3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R7-2 (MPX) - 1R-9 (MPX1) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK RAIN SENSOR (POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the R7 sensor connector.
    2. Check the voltage between the wire harness side connector and the body ground.

      Voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      R7-1 (SIG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK RAIN SENSOR (GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R7 sensor connector.
    2. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connector and the body ground.

      Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R7-3 (ES) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE RAIN SENSOR
