Throttle Body: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 7 clips and duct seal.

  3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.
    2. Remove the 10 screws and under cover.
  4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )

  5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH 
    1. Loosen the nut and remove the 2 clips and side cover.

  6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head.

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.
    2. Disconnect the clamp from the air cleaner.

    3. Disconnect the VSV (for EVAP).

    4. Disconnect the 4 clamps.
    5. Remove the hose clamp and air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose.

  9. REMOVE WATER BYPASS HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the 2 water bypass hoses from the throttle body.

  10. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY 
    1. Disconnect the throttle motor connector.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts, throttle body and gasket.
