Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK RESISTANCE (CANL - CANH OF DLC3) 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the DLC3.
    RESISTANCE

    A 54 to 66 Ω
    B 1 MΩ or more
    C Less than 54 Ω
    D 108 to 132 Ω

    1. B: Go to step   4 
    2. C: Go to step   11 
    3. D: Go to step   5

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CANL CIRCUIT - +B CIRCUIT, CANH CIRCUIT - +B CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher 

    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: Go to step   15 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CANL CIRCUIT - GROUND CIRCUIT, CANH CIRCUIT - GROUND CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher 

    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: Go to step   23 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
    3. IF THE SAME CODE IS STILL OUTPUT AFTER THE DTC IS DELETED, CHECK THE CONTACT CONDITION OF EACH CONNECTION 
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) - DLC3) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANL of the DLC3 and CANL of the junction connector (J17).

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 Ω or less 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH of the DLC3 and CANH of the junction connector (J17).

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 Ω or less

    1. OK: Go to step   1 
    2. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR AND GO TO STEP   1 
  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAN BUS CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the skid control ECU wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 108 to 132 Ω

    1. OK: Go to step   10 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  6. CHECK JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals 1 and 4 of the junction connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 Ω or less 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals 12 and 15 of the junction connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 Ω or less

    1. NG: REPLACE JUNCTION CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
  7. CHECK RESISTANCE (CANL - CANH OF SKID CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the skid control ECU.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 108 to 132 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY 
    2. OK: IF THE SAME CODE IS STILL OUTPUT AFTER THE DTC IS DELETED, CHECK THE CONTACT CONDITION OF EACH CONNECTION 
  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step 
  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J14).
    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the skid control ECU wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  10. CHECK RESISTANCE (CANL - CANH OF SKID CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the skid control ECU.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 108 to 132 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the steering angle sensor wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  12. CHECK RESISTANCE (CANL - CANH OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the steering angle sensor.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 108 to 132 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (YAW RATE SENSOR - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CANH of the yaw rate sensor wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  14. CHECK JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals 1, 2, 3 or 4 and 12, 13, 14 or 15 of the junction connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPLACE JUNCTION CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR 
  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (+B SHORT)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANH and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step 
  16. CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU 
    1. Connect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    4. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANH and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  17. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
    2. Measure resistance between terminals CANL and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    3. Measure resistance between terminals CANH and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. OK: REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  18. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANH and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. OK: REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  19. CHECK AND REPLACE JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance the between terminal BAT of the DLC3 and any CANL of the junction connector wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal BAT of the DLC3 and any CANH of the junction connector wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPLACE JUNCTION CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step 
  20. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANL of the skid control ECU wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    4. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH of the skid control ECU wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  21. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANL of the steering angle sensor wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    4. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH of the steering angle sensor wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  22. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (YAW RATE SENSOR - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANL of the yaw rate sensor wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    4. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH of the yaw rate sensor wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANH and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  24. CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 3 kΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANH and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 3 kΩ or higher

    1. OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  25. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 3 kΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANH and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 3 kΩ or higher

    1. OK: REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  26. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANL and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 3 kΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals CANH and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 3 kΩ or higher

    1. OK: REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  27. CHECK JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal CG of the DLC3 and any CANL of the junction connector wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CG of the DLC3 and any CANH of the junction connector wire harness side connector.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPLACE JUNCTION CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  28. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANL of the skid control ECU wire harness side connector and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    4. Measure resistance between terminal CANH of the skid control ECU wire harness side connector and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  29. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANL of the steering angle sensor wire harness side connector and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    4. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH of the steering angle sensor wire harness side connector and CG of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  30. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (YAW RATE SENSOR - JUNCTION CONNECTOR (J17)) 
    1. Disconnect the junction connector (J17).
    2. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANL of the yaw rate sensor wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or more 

    4. Measure the resistance between the terminal CANH of the yaw rate sensor wire harness side connector and BAT of the DLC3.

      OK: 

      Resistance: 1 MΩ or higher
