Inspection Procedure

  1. RE-REGISTER ECU COMMUNICATION ID 
    1. Re-register the ECU communication ID (See REGISTRATION  ) between the transponder key ECU assembly and ECM.
    2. Check that the engine starts.

      OK: The engine starts. 

    OK: END 

    NG: Go to next step. 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the T9 ECU and E6 ECM connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      T9-6 (EFIO) - E6-16 (IMI) Below 1 Ω
      T9-7 (EFII) - E6-15 (IMO)
      T9-6 (EFIO) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      T9-7 (EFII) - Body ground

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  3. CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. After replacing the transponder key ECU assembly with a normally functioning transponder key ECU assembly, check that the engine starts.

      OK: The engine starts. 

    NG: REPLACE ECM 

    OK: END
