Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lexus GS 430 and 2005 Lexus GS 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

HINT:

In case of using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 1 and incase of not using the hand-held tester, start from step  2.

  1. Check brake fluid level warning switch using hand-held tester. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC 3.

    CHECK: 

    Check the brake fluid level warning switch using DATA LIST.

    REFERENCE

    Brake fluid level Switch
    Normal OFF
    Abnormal ON
    1. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ). 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  2. Check brake fluid level warning switch. (See  INSPECTION  ). 
    1. NG: Replace the brake fluid level warning switch. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. Check wire harness and connector between brake fluid level warning switch and body ECU No. 2. 
    1. NG: Repair or replace wire harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table. (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).
