Inspection Procedure
HINT:
If there is not the hand-held tester, begin with STEP 3.
- Check M1, M2 SET switch operation.
PREPARATION:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn ignition switch ON and hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the DATALIST mode on the hand-held tester.
CHECK:
Check that switch status (ON/OFF) changes on the screen of hand-held tester as M1 and M2 SET switches of the vehicle are turned.
OK:
The switch status changes in the same way as the vehicle switch operation.
- NG: Go to step 3 .
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check power seat position memory function.
PREPARATION:
- Disconnect the negative (-) terminal of the battery, after 5 minutes reconnect it.
HINT:
Reset the memory of power seat position ECU.
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn ignition switch ON and hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the DATALIST mode on the hand-held tester.
CHECK:
When driving position is recorded in memory by turning M1 and M2 switches of the vehicle, check that memory status changes from "Not memorized" to "Memorized" on the screen of the hand-held tester.
OK:
The switch status changes in the same way as the vehicle switch operation.
- NG: Check and replace power seat position ECU (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS - GS300 & GS430 ).
- OK: Go to next step.
Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in problem symptoms table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
- Disconnect the negative (-) terminal of the battery, after 5 minutes reconnect it.
- Check M1, M2 SET switch (See
INSPECTION
).
- NG: Replace the M1, M2 and SET switches.
- OK: Go to next step.
Check and repair the harness or connector between driver door ECU and switch.
