Park/Neutral Position Switch Assy: Replacement

  1. Remove Front Floor Brace Center (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  2. Remove Rr Suspension Member Brace Rear Lower Lh (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  3. Remove Rr Suspension Member Brace Rear Lower Rh (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  4. Separate Oxygen Sensor (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  5. Remove Exhaust Pipe (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  6. Remove Front Floor Heat Insulator No. 1 (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  7. Separate Floor Shift Gear Shifting Rod Sub-Assy 
    1. Set The Shift Lever To N Position.
    2. Remove The Nut And Disconnect The Rod.

  8. Remove Transmission Control Shaft Lever Rh 
    1. Disconnect The Park/Neutral Position Switch Connector.
    2. Remove The Nut And Control Shaft Lever With The Rod.

  9. Remove Park/Neutral Position Switch Assy 
    1. Pry Out The Lock Plate And Remove The Nut.
    2. Remove The Bolt And Pull Out The Park/Neutral Position Switch.

  10. Install Park/Neutral Position Switch Assy 
    1. Install The Park/Neutral Position Switch.
    2. Temporarily Install The Bolt.

    3. Place A New Lock Plate And Tighten The Nut. Torque: 6.9 N.M (70 Kgf.Cm, 61 In..Lbf) 
    4. Temporarily Install The Control Shaft Lever.

    5. Turn The Lever Counterclockwise Until It Stops, Then Turn It Clockwise 2 Notches.
    6. Remove The Control Shaft Lever.

    7. Align The Groove With Neutral Basic Line, (H) Hold The Switch In Position And Tighten The Bolt.

      Torque: 12.8 N.M (130 Kgf.Cm, 9 Ft.Lbf)

    8. Using A Screwdriver, Stake The Nut With The Lock Plate.

  11. Install Transmission Control Shaft Lever Rh 
    1. Install The Nut And Control Shaft Lever With The Rod.

      Torque: 15.7 N.M (160 Kgf.Cm, 12 Ft.Lbf)

  12. Connect Floor Shift Gear Shifting Rod Sub-Assy 
    1. Temporarily Install The Rod To The Connecting Rod Swivel With The Nut.

  13. Adjust Shift Lever Position (See  Adjustment  ) 
  14. Install Front Floor Heat Insulator No. 1 (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  15. Install Exhaust Pipe (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  16. Install Oxygen Sensor (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  17. Install Rr Suspension Member Brace Rear Lower Rh (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  18. Install Rr Suspension Member Brace Rear Lower Lh (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  19. Install Front Floor Brace Center (See  Propeller With Center Bearing Shaft Assembly  ) 
  20. Inspect Shift Lever Position (See  Adjustment  ) 
  21. Inspect Park/Neutral Position Switch Assy (See  adjustment   ) 
  22. Check Exhaust Gas Leak
