Inspection Procedure

  1. USE LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. NO: Go to step   3 
    2. YES: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, check the remote control switch condition by the data monitor.

      Standard: 

    DRIVER SIDE J/B (DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU) 

    SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Item Condition Specified condition
    MIRR SEL SWL Right/Left adjustment switch in neutral --> LEFT ON --> OFF
    MIRR SEL SWR Right/Left adjustment switch in neutral --> RIGHT ON --> OFF
    MIRR POS SW L Mirror switch in neutral --> LEFT ON --> OFF
    MIRR POS SW R Mirror switch in neutral --> RIGHT ON --> OFF
    MIRR POS SW UP Mirror switch in neutral --> UP ON --> OFF
    MIRR POS SW DWN Mirror switch in neutral --> DOWN ON --> OFF
    1. OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK 
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. CHECK OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Check the continuity between each terminal of the outer mirror switch.
      1. Right/Left adjustment switch.

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Switch position Terminals Specified condition
      LEFT 8 <--> 9 100 Ω
      RIGHT 8 <--> 9 Continuity
    2. Mirror switch.

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Switch position Terminals Specified condition
      UP 7 <--> 9 Approx. 100 Ω
      RIGHT 7 <--> 9 250 Ω
      DOWN 7 <--> 9 470 Ω
      LEFT 7 <--> 9 800 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MIRROR SWITCH - DRIVER SIDE J/B) 
    1. Disconnect the mirror switch and driver side J/B connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between each terminal of the mirror switch vehicle's side connector and the driver side J/B vehicle's side connector (See BOTH OF DRIVER AND PASSENGER POWER MIRRORS CANNOT BE ADJUSTED MANUALLY FLOW CHART 3 CHART 3) ).

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Terminals (Mirror SW - Driver J/B) Specified condition
      R4-7 <--> D5-11 (M+ <--> M+) Continuity
      R4-8 <--> D5-10 (MSW <--> MSW) Continuity
      R4-9 <--> D5-7 (E <--> R/E) Continuity

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS 
    2. OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK
