Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK AND REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the M2 outer mirror control ECU connector, and check that the mirror operates when the battery positive voltage is applied to the wire harness side.

      STANDARD: 

      BATTERY CONNECTION AND MIRROR POSITION CHART

      Battery connection Mirror position
      Positive (+)-M2-12
      Negative (-)-M2-10
      Turn upward
      Positive (+) -M2-10
      Negative (-) - M2-12
      Turn downward
      Positive (+) - M2-11
      Negative (-) -M2-10
      Turn left
      Positive (+) - M2-10
      Negative (-) - M2-11
      Turn right

    1. OK: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSY 
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the M3 outer rear view mirror connector, and check that the mirror operates when the battery positive voltage is applied to the wire harness side.

      STANDARD: 

      BATTERY CONNECTION AND MIRROR POSITION CHART

      Battery connection Mirror position
      Positive (+) - M3-5
      Negative (-) - M3-6
      Turn upward
      Positive (+) - M3-6
      Negative (-) - M3-5
      Turn downward
      Positive (+) - M3-11
      Negative (-) - M3-6
      Turn left
      Positive (+) - M3-6
      Negative (-) - M3-11
      Turn right

    1. NG: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH) 
    1. Disconnect the M3 outer rear view mirror and M2 outer mirror control ECU connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between the disconnected connectors.

      STANDARD: 

      CHECKING CONTINUITY - REFERENCE DATA

      Symbols (Terminal No.)
      (Mirror - Mirror ECU)
      Specified condition
      MH <==> MHL (M3-11 <==> M2-11) Continuity
      M+ <==> M+L (M3-6 <==> M2-10) Continuity
      MV <==> MVL (M3-5 <==> M2-12) Continuity

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSY 
  4. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the M2 outer mirror control ECU connector, and then check that the mirror operates when the battery positive voltage is applied to the wire harness side.

      STANDARD: 

      BATTERY CONNECTION AND MIRROR POSITION CHART

      Battery connection Mirror position
      Positive (+) - M2-24
      Negative (-) - M2-22
      Turn upward
      Positive (+) - M2-22
      Negative (-) - M2-24
      Turn downward
      Positive (+) - M2-23
      Negative (-) - M2-22
      Turn left
      Positive (+) - M2-22
      Negative (-) - M2-23
      Turn right

    1. OK: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the M4 outer rear view mirror connector, and then check that the mirror operates when the battery positive voltage is applied to the wire harness side.

      STANDARD: 

      BATTERY CONNECTION AND MIRROR POSITION CHART

      Battery connection Mirror position
      Positive (+) - M4-5
      Negative (-) - M4-6
      Turn upward
      Positive (+) - M4-6
      Negative (-) - M4-5
      Turn downward
      Positive (+) - M4-11
      Negative (-) - M4-6
      Turn left
      Positive (+) - M4-6
      Negative (-) - M4-11
      Turn right

    1. NG: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR RH) 
    1. Disconnect the M4 outer rear view mirror and M2 outer mirror control ECU connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between the disconnected connectors.

      STANDARD: 

      CHECKING CONTINUITY - REFERENCE DATA
