Inspection Procedure

  1. FUNCTION CHECK (OPERATION) 
    1. Check whether the manual operation is normal by using the power seat switch.
    1. NG: FLOW CHART 1 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. FUNCTION CHECK (MEMORY) 
    1. Check whether the power seat memory function is normal.
    1. NG: FLOW CHART 2 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. FUNCTION CHECK (REPRODUCING OPERATION) 
    1. Check whether the reproducing operation works under any of the following conditions.
      FUNCTION CHECK CHART

      Condition
      IG ON, P RANGE
      IG ON, N RANGE, vehicle stopped
      Driver's door open, no key inserted in key switch
      1. When the reproducing operation does not work under all the conditions, proceed to "A".
      2. When the reproducing operation works under one of the conditions, proceed to "B".
    1. B: CHECK AND REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSY (See  TERMINALS OF ECU  ) 
    2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  4. READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Read DATA MONITOR using hand-held tester.

    1. When "Position Memorizing" does not work, proceed to "A".
    2. When all items work or "Seat Memory" does not work, proceed to "B".
    3. When the "P Range" or "Vehicle's Speed" does not work, proceed to "C".
    1. B: CHECK AND REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSY (See  TERMINALS OF ECU  ) 
    2. C: TO INSTRUMENT PANEL & METER SECTION 
    3. A: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Check the continuity of the wire harness between the seat ECU and the position control sensor with a malfunctioning part detected by the ECU data.

    Tester connection (Connector B <--> Position control sensor) Specified condition
    P21-6 <--> Terminal 3 of defective position sensor Continuity
    P21-13 <--> Terminal 2 of defective position sensor Continuity
    P21-3 <--> Terminal 1 of position sensor for front vertical Continuity
    P21-4 <--> Terminal 1 of position sensor for lifter Continuity
    P21-5 <--> Terminal 1 of position sensor for reclining Continuity
    P21-14 <--> Terminal 1 of position sensor for slide Continuity
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE POSITION CONTROL SENSOR
