Inspection Procedure

  1. USE LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. NO: GO TO STEP   3 
    2. YE: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. DO ACTIVE TEST OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. ACTIVE TEST
      1. Make a judgement of good or bad and find out a malfunctioning part by the active test.

    DOOR ECU 

    Standard: 

    STANDARD CHART

    Item Specified condition
    MIRR UP/DOWN UP/OFF
    MIRR UP/DOWN DOWN/OFF
    MIRR RIGHIT/LEFT LEFT OFF
    MIRR RIGHIT/LEFT RIGHT OFF
    NOTE:
    • If the driver's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-A".
    • If the passenger's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-B".
    1. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH 
    2. OK-LB: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH 
    3. NG: GO TO STEP 4 
  3. CHECK OPERATION OF OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR 
    1. Disconnect the door ECU connector, and then check that the mirror operates when the battery positive voltage is applied to the vehicle's side wire harness.
    NOTE:
    • If the driver's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-A".
    • If the passenger's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-B".
    1. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH 
    2. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH 
    3. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR 
    1. Check the continuity between each terminal of the outer rear view mirror.

      Standard: 

      STANDARD CHART

      Terminals Specified condition
      1 <=> 10 Continuity
      10 <=> 9 Continuity
    NOTE:
    • If the driver's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "NG-A".
    • If the passenger's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "NG-B".

    1. NG-A: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    2. NG-B: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    3. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS(OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR - DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror and door ECU connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between each terminal of the outer rear view mirror vehicle's side connector and the door ECU vehicle's side connector. (See TERMINALS OF ECU )
      1. Driver's side

        Standard: 

        STANDARD CHART

        Terminals (Mirror- Door ECU) Specified condition
        R14-9 <=> D19-19 (MH <=> DMHR) Continuity
        R14-10 <=> D 19-20 (COM <=> DMHR) Continuity
        R14-1 <=> D19-8 (MV <=> DMVR) Continuity
      2. Passenger's side

        Standard: 

        STANDARD CHART

        Terminals (Mirror- Door ECU) Specified condition
        R15-9 <=> P11-19 (MH <=> PMHR) Continuity
        R15-10 <=> P11-20 (COM <=> PMHR) Continuity
        R15-1 <=> P11 -8 (MV <=>PMVR) Continuity

    NOTE:
    • In case of the driver's side wire harness, proceed to "OK-A".
    • In case of the passenger's side wire harness, proceed to "OK-B".
    1. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH 
    2. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH 
    3. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
