Inspection Procedure

  1. USE LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. NO: GO TO STEP   3 
    2. YES: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. DO ACTIVE TEST OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. ACTIVE TEST
      1. Make a judgement of good or bad and find out a malfunctioning part by the active test.

      Standard: 

    DOOR ECU 

    STANDARD CHART

    Item Operation
    MIRR FOLD/RETRN FOLD/OFF
    MIRR FOLD/RETRN RETRN/OFF
    NOTE:
    • If the driver's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-A".
    • If the passenger's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-B".
    1. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH 
    2. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH 
    3. NG: GO TO STEP   4 
  3. CHECK OPERATION OF OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR 
    1. Check that the mirror operates when the battery voltage is applied to the door ECU connector.
    NOTE:
    • If the driver's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-A".
    • If the passenger's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "OK-B".
    1. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH 
    2. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH 
    3. NG: GO TO STEP 4 
  4. CHECK POWER SOURCE 
    1. Check the voltage between each terminal of the door ECU that does not perform the power retraction operation
      1. Driver door ECU

        Standard: 

        STANDARD CHART

        Terminals Specified condition
        D19-6 <=> D19-1
        (BDR <=> GND)
        10 - 14 V
      2. Passenger door ECU

        Standard: 

      STANDARD CHART

      Terminals Specified condition
      P11-6 <=> P11-1
      (BDR <=> GND)
      10 - 14 V

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR 
    1. Check the continuity between each terminal of the outer mirror that does not perform the power retract switch.

    Standard: 

    STANDARD CHART

    Terminals Specified condition
    3 <=> 11 Continuity
    NOTE:
    • In case of the driver's side wire harness, proceed to "OK-A".
    • In case of the passenger's side wire harness, proceed to "OK-B".
    • If the driver's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "NG-A".
    • If the passenger's side mirror malfunctions, proceed to "NG-B".

    1. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH 
    2. NG-A: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    3. NG-B: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    4. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH
