Test No. 2: Cruise Control Indicator Light Circuit
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove and inspect GAUGE fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If fuse blows again, locate and repair short in Yellow or Green/Yellow wire between GAUGE fuse and CC ECU connector C17.
- Remove combination meter and disconnect Gray 10-pin connector C10. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure battery voltage between ground and Gray 10-pin connector C10 terminal No. 5 (Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, locate and repair open in Yellow wire between GAUGE fuse and Gray 10-pin combination meter connector C10.
- Remove and inspect cruise control indicator bulb. If bulb is okay, reconnect instrument cluster connectors and go to next step. If bulb is faulty, replace bulb and recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect CC ECU connector C17. See Figure. Check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector C17 terminal No. 7 (Green/Yellow wire). If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, locate and repair short in Green/Yellow wire between CC ECU connector C17 and instrument cluster.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure battery voltage between ground and CC ECU connector C17 terminal No. 7 (Green/Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, check CC ECU. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If found to be defective, replace CC ECU and recheck system operation. If battery voltage does not exist, locate and repair open in Yellow or Green/Yellow wire between CC ECU connector C17 and instrument cluster.
