Test 7 (Clutch Switch Circuit): M/T
Cruise control ECU applies a reference voltage to clutch switch to sense whether switch is open or closed. With clutch pedal released, switch is open. When clutch pedal is pressed, switch closes and cruise control ECU disengages cruise control.
- If starter operates with clutch pedal released, check for fault in starter circuit. See STARTER article in the ELECTRICAL section. If starter operates with clutch pedal pressed, check clutch switch input signal circuit. See INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUITS .
- If input signal circuit is okay, perform next procedure listed in DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM table. If input signal circuit is not okay, remove cruise control ECU, but leave electrical connector(s) attached.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 of cruise control ECU connector. See Figure. With clutch pedal pressed, less than one volt should be present. With clutch pedal released, battery voltage should be present.
- If voltage is as specified, perform next procedure listed in DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM table. If voltage is not as specified, check for faulty circuit between cruise control ECU and ST fuse. If circuit is okay, replace cruise control ECU.
