A/C Clutch

The ECM indirectly controls the operation of the A/C clutch. If the ECM detects that the A/C switch has been turned on (A/C request), the ECM grounds the coil circuit of the A/C clutch relay. The contacts in the relay close, allowing power to the A/C clutch. If conditions are not okay for A/C clutch to be engaged (throttle is wide open, etc.), the ECM will not ground the coil circuit.
