A/C Compressor Control

There are 2 types of compressor:

• Internally controlled, clutched compressor (3.6L TDV8)
• Externally controlled, clutchless compressor (5.0L AJ133 NA/SC)

The air conditioning (A/C) compressor is engaged by pressing either;

• the automatic mode switch
• the defrost switch
• the air conditioning (A/C) switch
• or the maximum air conditioning (A/C) switch.
