RECALL DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL YAW RATE SENSOR INSPECTION

SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN

Reference Number(s): RB178, Date of Issue:  March 08, 2005
LAND ROVER: New Range Rover (LM)
ISSUE: 1
SECTION: General Info
AFFECTED VEHICLES: New Range Rover (LM) 4A1757238 to 4A178015, Production dates 22 June 2004 - 09 July 2004

SITUATION:

INTERNAL SENSOR FAULT POSSIBLE

Range Rover vehicles equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) could have had a yaw rate sensor installed that has internally delaminated. This could actuate the DSC system incorrectly, resulting in uneven and unexpected application of the brakes.

RESOLUTION:

INSPECT SENSOR AND REPLACE IF INDICATED

Inspect the suspect yaw rate sensor to determine if it is from the affected production batch. Replace the sensor if it is indicated by the inspection.

PARTS INFORMATION:

NOTE: It is expected that at least 30% of the 23 affected vehicles will require inspection only. SRO 000010 Yaw Rate Sensor Qty 1

DDW WARRANTY CLAIMS:

Warranty claims should be submitted quoting program code B178 together with the appropriate option code. As option codes are used, there is no requirement for you to enter parts or labor. They are repeated here for information only. Drive in/drive out can only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.
