5.12.1 Description
The IAT sensor is a temperature dependent resistor (thermistor), i.e. the resistance of the sensor varies with temperature. The thermistor is a NTC type which means that the sensor resistance decreases as the sensor temperature increases. It is located between the MAF sensor and the throttle body.
A fault is detected if the resistance of the sensor exceeds a minimum or maximum threshold.
