Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Depressurize hydraulic system. See DEPRESSURIZING BRAKE SYSTEM  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM. Remove accumulator. See ACCUMULATOR  . Position cloth to catch brake fluid. Disconnect brake fluid supply hose at ABS power unit, and plug hose.
  2. Remove high pressure hose banjo bolt at ABS power unit. Discard washers and plug hose and connection openings. Disconnect ABS power unit electrical connectors. Remove 3 ABS power unit mounting nuts and remove ABS power unit. Replace ABS pump relay.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedures using NEW washers. Reuse mounting bushings. Reconnect negative battery cable. Bleed hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
