Removal & Installation: Installation

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION . If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.
  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    WARNING: For airbag control units with a rollover detection feature, the airbag may deploy due to movements occurring during installation. Therefore, do not install the airbag control unit with the battery connected or within 3 minutes and 30 seconds of disconnecting the battery negative (-) terminal.
    NOTE: Be sure to keep the torque specifications presented in service information. Otherwise, it could lead to the malfunction of airbag system.
  2. Perform in the order below with the KDS when replacing the airbag control unit. (S/W Management → Airbag → ACU Variant Coding)

    Refer to the KDS screen for operating conditions and details

  3. Check that the airbag system operates normally.
    NOTE: The airbag warning light should illuminate for 3 - 6 seconds and goes off when the IG is ON.
  4. Perform Over The Air (OTA) controller S/W update with KDS. (Refer to Body - "OVER THE AIR (OTA) ")
