How To Check/Adjust Front Radar Installation Angle - Stop Mode
NOTE:
- Check for vehicle alignment and tire pressure for accurate radar calibration.
- Put the vehicle on the level ground.
- Check that the front surface of the front radar is clean.
- Perform in an area with minimum clearance of 8 m (26.4 ft) front, 4 m (13.2 ft) sides, and 2 m (6.6 ft) above the vehicle.
- The reflector has to be installed at same place (height and angle) as front radar center. (If height and angle are different, then adjustment can not be done correctly.)
- Remove objects (metal plates, resins, etc.) that may cause electric signal interference from the area where front radar alignment is performed.
- Be sure that the vehicle is not moved and free from vibration when performing front radar alignment (getting in/out or opening/closing doors).
- When performing front radar alignment, the ignition has to be in the ON position (not in Ready mode).
- Park the vehicle on a flat ground.
- Mark the center point of emblem (A).
- Mark the center point (A) after measuring the distance on top of the windshield glass.
- Mount the SCC setting beam (09964 - C1200) on the front radar setting tripod (09964 - C1300).
- Place the SCC setting beam (09964 - C1200) at 2.6 m (8.53 ft) away from the front of the vehicle.
- Match the vertical line of laser to (A) and (B) using the SCC setting beam (09964 - C1200)
- Mark the location (C) at 2.4 - 2.6 m (7.87 - 8.53 ft) away from (A) in front of the vehicle.
- Mark the location (D) as shown below at 6 mm (0.24 in) away from (C) to the left (passenger side) of the vehicle.
- Remove the SCC setting beam (09964 - C1200) from the front radar setting tripod (09964 - C1300).
- Mount the front radar setting reflector (09964 - C1100) to the front radar setting tripod (09964 - C1300).
- Mount the calibration reflector (0K964 - J5100) to the front radar setting reflector (09964 - C1100).
- Set the reflector horizontal using the leveler (A) which is built in the front radar setting tripod (09964 - C1300).
- Align the plumb bob (A) of the front radar setting reflector (09964 - C1100) with the point (D).
- Set the height of the calibration reflector (0K964 - J5100) to 335 mm (13.2 in).
- Remove the plumb bob from the front radar setting reflector (09964 - C1100).NOTE: If the plumb bob is not removed it can affect the adjustment.
- Visually check again the front radar and the surface of front bumper for the following items.NOTE:
- Make sure that there is no foreign or reflective objects on the surface of the radar.
- Make sure that there is no foreign or reflective objects on the radiator grille.
- Select C1 (stop mode) and follow the procedure on KDS to inspect and adjust the front radar installation angle.
- In case of front radar inspection/correction failure, check the inspection/correction conditions.
