Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) - Water pump

  1. Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Disconnect the ECTS connector (A).

  3. Remove the ECTS (A) after removing the mounting bolt.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

NOTE:
  • Note that engine coolant may be flowed out from the water pump when removing the sensor.
  • Remove the O-ring in the cooling water temperature sensor as well, and make sure that the O-ring is removed.
