Front Radar: Installation
WARNING:
- When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
- When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION ". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
NOTE:
- Check for vehicle alignment and tire pressure for accurate camera calibration.
- Make sure the vehicle does not sag. (Check the suspension problem)
- Put the vehicle on the level ground.
- Check that the front surface of the front radar is clean.
- Install the front radar (A) after tightening the nuts.
Tightening torque:
8.9 - 10.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.1 kgf.m, 6.6 - 7.9 lb.ft)
- Connect the front radar connector (A).
- Check the front radar vertical angle by using the digital inclinometer (A).
Horizontal Angle: 0° ± 0.8°
Vertical Angle: 0° ± 0.4°
NOTE:- The digital inclinometer must be set to a horizontal zero-point before use.
- Be careful with +/- readings when finding true vertical using vertical protractor.
- Adjust to vertical installation angle by turning the adjusting screw (A) of the front radar.
- turn clockwise: adjusting (+) angle
- turn counterclockwise: adjusting (-) angle
NOTE:- Make sure that there is no debris, or reflecting object on the surface of the radar.
- Make sure that there is no debris, or reflecting object on the radiator grille.
- Install the front bumper assembly.
(Refer to Body - "FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY ")
- Perform the front radar inspection/calibration procedure by using the SST.
(Refer to Front Radar Unit - "ADJUSTMENT ")
