Removal And Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector (A).

  3. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  4. Remove the sensor (A) by loosening the mounting bolt.

    Crankshaft position sensor mounting bolt: 

    7.8 - 11.8 Nm (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
  • Install the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) to the specified torque.
  • If the CKPS is dropped, it may internal damage. (Do not reuse)
  • Install the CKPS by pushing it into the mounting hole when installing it. At this time do not impact the sensor.
  • Apply the engine oil to the O-ring.
