Inspection Procedure

■ Visual check

1. Check engine oil gauge.
2. Check contamination of engine oil.
3. Check clog of oil path.

■ Check resistance of oil pump solenoid

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect the oil pump solenoid connector.
3. Measure voltage between Pin No. (power) and Pin No. (control) terminal of oil pump solenoid. (component side)

• Specification:  22.0 to 26.0Ω (20°C (68°F))

■ Check oil pump solenoid operating state

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect the oil pump solenoid connector.
3. Apply power to Pin No. (power) and connect ground to Pin No. (control) terminal of oil pump solenoid. (component side)
   • Specification:  Operating sound is heard

   Good 

   • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.

   No Good 

   • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
   • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the oil pump solenoid and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
