5 Door

Information 

  1. Remove the liftgate trim.

    (Refer to liftgate - "LIFTGATE TRIM ")

  2. Disconnect the liftgate latch connector (A).

  3. Remove the liftgate latch assembly (B) after loosening the mounting bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb.ft)

    NOTE: In the following cases, replace the latch base sub assembly or latch actuator assembly.
    • If the latch base sub assembly is on abnormal condition
    • If the latch actuator assembly is on abnormal condition

    1. Loosen the screws (A) from the trunk lid latch assembly.

    2. Separate the latch actuator assembly (B) from the latch base sub assembly (A).

  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Information 

    • Make sure the liftgate locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.
    • Adjust the liftgate alignment.
    • Make sure the connectors are connected in properly.
