Repair Procedures: Removal

Occupant Detection System (ODS) Unit 

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
    NOTE: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait at least 30 seconds.
  2. Remove the passenger seat assembly.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY ")

  3. Loosen the mounting screws, remove the bracket (A).

  4. Disconnect the connector (A).

  5. Loosen the ODS Unit mounting screws (A).

  6. Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove the Occupant Detection System [ODS] (B).

Occupant Detection System (ODS) Sensor 

NOTE: If the ODS sensor needs to be replaced, the seat cushion assembly should be replaced.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
    NOTE: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait at least 30 seconds.
  2. Remove the front passenger seat assembly.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY ")

  3. Disconnect the ODS sensor connector.
  4. Remove the passenger seat cushion cover.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER ")
