DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy Case 1
  • Rationality check, high side
  • Poor connector connection
  • Short to ground in harness
  • IATS

  • Rationality check, noisy

  • Check ECT, IAT, AAT Correlation
Case 4
  • Monitor at cold condition
Enable Conditions Case 1, 2
  • (A) Vehicle speed is greater than 50km/h (31mph)
  • (B) Air mass flow is at between 24kg/h and 300kg/h
  • Time after (A) + (B) is greater than 8s
Case 3 When ECT at start is less than 40°C and condition for high intake air temperature
  • Vehicle speed is greater than 4.8km/h (3mph)
  • ECT is higher than 70°C (158°F)
  • Air mass flow is less than 16kg/h
  • Integrated air mass is greater than 20kg
  • Duration of condition is for more than 18s
  • total number of condition is more than 5 times

When ECT at start is less than 40°C and condition for low intake air temperature
  • Vehicle speed is greater than 4.8km/h (3mph)
  • ECT is higher than 31°C (87.8°F)
  • Air mass flow is between 24kg/h and 300kg/h
  • Duration of condition is for more than 8s
  • total number of condition is more than 2 times
Case 4
  • Soaking time engine stop at ECT 0°C is greater than 5h
  • Engine stop at ECT 90°C (194°F) is greater than 7h
  • Block heater: Not detected
  • ECT is less than 50.25°C (122.45°F)
  • Difference of ECT and ECT at Start is less than 2.25°C (36.05°F)
  • Time after engine start 30s
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Intake Air Temperature is greater than 110°C (230°F)
Case 2
  • Absolute value of difference of raw IAT and filtered IAT is greater than 0.498V
Case 3
  • IAT deviation of more than 1.5°C (34.7°F)
Case 4
  • Absolute value of difference of Reference temp and IAT is greater than 20°C (68°F)
* Ref temp: 2 of 3 Signals are selected and averaged, and the other Signal which has the biggest deviation is excluded
