DTC Description

The ECM monitors the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) signal to determine the engine temperature.

The ECM sets DTC P2181F0 when the ECTS signal is out of the specifications; Measured ECT below warm up temperature (20 °F below thermostat regulating temperature) when Modeled ECT has reached thermostat regulating temperature (Thermostat open stuck monitoring).
