Repair Procedures: Removal
[Suction & Liquid tube assembly]
- If the compressor is marginally operable, run the engine at idle speed, and let the air conditioning work for a few minutes, then shut the engine off.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/charging station.
- Remove the engine cover (A).
- Remove the bolts and the expansion valve (A) from the evaporator core.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)
- After loosening the mounting nut, remove the suction line (A).
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the A/C pressure transducer connector (A).
- Remove the engine room under cover.
G 2.0 MPI NU (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - " ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
1.6 DOHC D-CVVT MPI (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - " ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Remove the bolts, then disconnect the suction line (A) from the compressor.
Tightening torque:
21.6 - 32.4 N.m (2.2 - 3.3 kgf.m, 15.9 - 23.9 lb.ft)
- Support the jack on the edge of the oil pan.
- After loosening the mounting bolt and nuts, remove the engine mounting support bracket (A).
Tightening torque:
58.8 - 73.5 N.m (6.0 - 7.5 kgf.m, 43.4 - 54.2 lb.ft)
- Loosen the bracket mounting bolt (B) from suctions liquid assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)
- Remove the refrigerant line assembly to the upper of engine room.
[Discharge tube assembly]
- If the compressor is marginally operable, run the engine at idle speed, and let the air conditioning work for a few minutes, then shut the engine off.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Recover the refrigerant with a recovery charging station.
- After loosening the mounting nut, remove the discharge line (A).
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)
- After loosening the mounting nut, remove the discharge tube assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
21.6 - 32.4 N.m (2.2 - 3.3 kgf.m, 15.9 - 23.9 lb.ft)
