DTC P1695-00: EMS Memory Error: General Description

The ECM/PCM and SMK independently store the PIN code in the modules EEPROM. The ECM/PCM check the information before proceeding with immobilizer authentication. When the information from both modules match, the ECM/PCM authorizes the start procedure. If information does not match, the ECM/PCM stops immobilizer authentication. Limp home function will not activate and DTC P169500 sets as pending. If DTC P169500 sets again, after performing new key teaching procedure, the ECM/PCM should be replaced.
