Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Inspection
Power Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Refer to "RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR (RPS) " and disconnect Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) joint connector.
- Ignition "ON".
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 9 (Power) terminal of Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) joint connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 5V
- Is measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "next" procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in power circuit between Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) and ECM/PCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Ground Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR (RPS) " and disconnect Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) joint connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 11 (Ground) terminal of Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) joint connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- Is measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "next" procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in ground circuit of Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Signal Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Refer to "RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR (RPS) " and disconnect Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) joint connector.
- Ignition "ON"
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 10 (Signal) terminal of Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) joint connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 5V
- Is measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in signal circuit of Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
