DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Sensor signal stuck in range
  • Poor Connector Connection
  • Faulty OTS Sensor
Enable Condition
  • Difference between highest and lowest modeled oil Temp is higher than 30 ~ 100 °C (86 ~ 212°F)
  • Engine coolant Temp. is higher than 82 °C (179°F)
  • Coolant Temp. (at start) is lower than 53.25 °C (181.85°F)
  • Battery voltage between 11V and 16V
Threshold Value
  • Difference between highest and lowest modeled oil temperature is lower than 2 to 35 °C (35 to 95°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • 13 minutes (depending on start temperature)
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Sensor signal implausible low
Enable Condition
  • Coolant Temp.(at start) is lower than 53.25 °C (181.85°F)
  • Battery voltage between 11V and 16V
  • Modeled oil temperature is higher than 70 °C (158°F)
Threshold Value
  • Measured oil Temp is lower than 20°C (68°F) when modeled oil Temp. is higher than 70 °C (158°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • 13 minutes (depending on start temperature)
Case 3 DTC Strategy
  • Sensor signal implausible high
Enable Condition
  • Coolant Temperature is lower than 70 °C (158°F)
  • Battery voltage between 11V and 16V
Threshold Value
  • Measured oil Temp is higher than 100 °C (212°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • 15 s
Case 4 DTC Strategy
  • Comparing with other temperatures (ECT, IAT, AAT) at start after long engine stop time
Enable Condition
  • Battery voltage between 11V and 16V
  • Engine stop time is longer than 480 minutes
Threshold Value
  • Deviation between EOT and 2 other temp sensors (ECT, AAT, IAT) is higher than 20°C (68°F) when deviation among other temp sensors (ECT, AAT, IAT) is lower than 20°C (68°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • Immediate
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
