Removal And Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the engine room front under cover.
(Refer to " ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Drain the coolant.
(Refer to " COOLANT ")
- Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to " ENGINE COVER ")
- Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the connector brackets around the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A) and water hose (B).
- Remove the water outlet pipe assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)
- Remove the intercooler outlet hose & pipe assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
Hose clamp:
4.9 - 6.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.7 kgf.m, 3.6 - 5.1 lb.ft. 43.4 - 60.8 lb.in)
(If equipped with a cap, tighten it until the cap is removed.)
Bolt:
14.7 - 19.6 N.m (1.5 - 2.0 kgf.m, 10.8 - 14.5 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).
- Disconnect the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (A).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (A).
- Remove the alternator.
(Refer to " ALTERNATOR ")
- Unfasten the electric throttle body control (ETC) module bolts.
(Refer to " ETC (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL) SYSTEM ")
- Remove the oil level pipe.
(Refer to " OIL LEVEL GAUGE & PIPE ")
- Remove the intake manifold stay (A).
Tightening torque:
18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)
- Remove the intake manifold stay bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (A).
- Remove the intake manifold (A).
Tightening torque:
18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)
- Remove the intake manifold stay (A).
Tightening torque:
18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.NOTE:
- When installing, replace with new gaskets.
- When installing the intake manifold, tighten the bolts and nuts with pre-torque first, and then tighten the bolts and nuts with specified torque in the sequence shown.
NOTE: After replacing the intake manifold, be sure to delete the previous VCMA adaptive value by performing the "resetting adaptive values" procedure using KDS.
