Monitor GDS Data

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  3. Press the brake pedal.
  4. Monitor the "Brake Light Switch" parameter on the "Current Data" menu of the GDS.

  5. Whenever Brake pedal is pushed down, is the brake lamp switch's GDS data changed ON/OFF?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent, caused by poor connection in brake light switch circuit and/or ESP (ESC)'s connector. Or, ESP (ESC) memory was not cleared after it was repaired. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

    NO 

    • Go to next step.
