DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Monitor the CAN error signal
  
  1. While the driver seat door is open (SMK Unit is not in the Sleep mode)...
    1. check for a short to a CAN High line
    2. check for a short to a CAN Low line
    3. check for a short between CAN High and Low line
    4. Poor contact of connectors
    5. Smart key unit (PIC IMMO unit)
NOTE: Signal level in sleeping mode
  • CAN High line: Ground
  • CAN Low line: Lower than battery voltage
Enable Conditions
  • 9V < Battery Voltage < 16V
Threshold value
  • The error count is increased by an increment of 1 if the CAN Error PIN is low, and displays a DTC if the error count becomes 200 or more (detection period: 10ms - When a failure persists for 2 seconds, a DTC will be displayed).
DTC detection time
  • The DTC persists over 2 sec.
DTC clearance time
  • The DTC will be cleared when CAN Error PIN returns to normal.
